About Maths Connections V2.0

Maths Connections generates and marks an infinite supply of questions on over 300 topics covering all levels up to GCSE, as well as analysing pupils’ progress in detail and reporting on areas of strength and weakness. And all this for around £1 per pupil!

It is a valuable resource suitable for all ages up to 16, and it will find use throughout the year for consolidating recent work and providing extra revision practice.

Pupils earn Gold, Silver and Bronze awards by answering questions correctly to make a path across a grid (a bit like Blockbusters!). Experience shows that pupils enjoy using the program – they are highly motivated and answer far more questions in a given time than they would if working from a text book. Pupils get immediate feedback on their progress, and the program can even point out errors in their rough working.

The GCSE Tier can be tailored to Foundation, Intermediate or Higher for each pupil independently, and a tamper-proof log file stores a complete record of each pupil’s work.

Maths Connections also comes with a comprehensive set of tests targeting all areas of the syllabus, and it is easy for teachers to add their own custom-made tests for particular classes or individuals.

Great care has been taken to ensure that the program is about mathematics, not about computing! There are no special computer tricks to learn, and everything on the screen appears just as you would expect to see it in a Maths book.

Please note that Maths Connections is not intended to teach mathematics. Rather, it is designed to give unlimited practice on topics that have already been studied, and this practice is vital for good understanding. Importantly, the program does not subscribe to any particular teaching method, so any valid method of working will be accepted and understood.

Maths Connections has been written by a practising teacher and former research scientist, and it has been thoroughly tested in the classroom over the last four years by over 100 schools across the country. Feedback from these schools has played a major rôle in determining the changes and improvements incorporated into Version 2.0.

To our knowledge, there is nothing else as flexible and powerful on the market with a price tag below £10,000 (if you know differently, please tell us!) – and Maths Connections V2.0 costs only £399.95 for a full network licence.

Why is it so inexpensive?

Finally, here are some customer comments on the previous version of Maths Connections (Version 2.0 is even better!):
